Course Overview
Taught by instructors with extensive occupational experience in Fire Fighting and First Aid, we’ll cover the basics of Fire Safety, including how fires are caused and how to respond safely. You will also have the opportunity to experience a live fire demonstration and, following a risk assessment, use a fire extinguisher.
It is a legal obligation for employers and landlords to provide a Fire Safety risk assessment and to keep it up to date. This course will address the risks associated with fire and the key principles of fire safety management.
This Fire Safety / Level 2 Fire Marshal Training includes:

The basic chemistry of fire and its different classes

Causes of fires and their prevention

Extinguisher recognition and use (theory and practical)

Fire legislation

Emergency lighting

Evacuation assembly point and fire drills

Fire alarms

Fire hazards

Routine fire safety inspections and maintaining a fire logbook

Risk assessment awareness
The course follows the Level 2 Fire Marshall Training syllabus and is certificated through QNUK. First Aid Cornwall utilises the following training methods:

Active learning methods involving small group practice with ongoing instructor assessment
